The Young Vic has announced a new season with highlights that includes the UK premiere of Tony Award-winning musical Fun Home, which will open on 27 June and run to 1 September 2018, with previews from 18 June. Thom Southerland is to direct a brand new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony and Olivier-Award nominated musical, The Woman in White at London’s Charing Cross Theatre for a strictly limited 12-week season from 20th November-10th February 2018. The transfer of “Hair” from Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre to London’s Vault for a run from 11th October to 14th January has been cast with Daniel Bailey, Adam Dawson and Jessie May joining the returning cast. Richard Fleeshman and Hannah Waddingham will lead the reading of What’s New Pussycat?, a new musical incorporating the songs of “It’s Not Unusual” hit-maker Tom Jones. Oscar Hammerstein’s grandson, Will, is fundraising in order to buy and renovate Highland Farm where from 1942 Oscar Hammerstein lived in order to convert it into a a Hammerstein Museum. Composer Alan Menken has revealed plans for a Broadway adaptation of the Disney movie Hercules. Birmingham Hippodrome announces star line up which puts their Cinderella on top of the provincial list. Mark Henderson to head the cast of The Toxic Avenger which opens at London’s Arts Theatre on September 28th. London’s National Theatre’s production of Follies will be screened in cinemas across the UK on 16th November. A concert performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific featuring John Owen Jones, Rosalie Craig, Peter Polycarpou and Bradley Jaden with a 32 piece orchestra led by Emily Davis will be held at London’s Cadogan Hall on 15th October.
